Research Overview

My research examines how economic incentives, behavioural responses, and policy design shape sustainability outcomes in livestock systems and food supply chains. I work across agricultural economics, environmental policy, animal welfare, and food systems science, using empirical methods to address real‑world challenges.

Current Research Themes

Climate Mitigation in Livestock Systems

I study how farmers respond to greenhouse gas policies, incentives, and technological innovations. My work explores heterogeneity in mitigation potential, adoption behaviour, and the distributional impacts of climate policy.

Animal Welfare, Consumer Behaviour & Market Signals

This stream investigates how welfare‑enhancing practices influence consumer preferences, willingness to pay, and trust in food systems. I also examine the role of transparency, certification, and institutional trust.

Genomic Innovation & Breeding for Resilience

I collaborate with geneticists and animal scientists to evaluate the economic and social implications of genomic tools, resilience traits, and breeding strategies for sustainable dairy and beef production.

Farmer Decision‑Making & Social Sustainability

My work explores how farmers perceive risk, trust institutions, and navigate changing expectations around environmental stewardship, welfare standards, and social licence.
